Now they are used for special celebrations and solemnities. LISTEN |
| Horns are signal instruments. In the ancient times Lithuanian used to blow the horns in order to warn each other about approaching enemies. The sound of horn may be heard up to 10 kilometers. The horns were also used as musical instruments, when the glees were performed (genre of music that is characteristic exceptionally to Lithuanians): one strophe was blown by horn, and the other sung.  | Horn of herdsman is a wind-instrument of senior shepherd. While playing it in the morning, the herdsman used to call shepherds and animals, called the lost animals. It was also played during various celebrations. LISTEN |
 | Ožragiai (Horns of goats) are the instruments of shepherds, made from the horns of goats. The shepherds used these horns while pasturing the animals and for the wedding or entertainments of youth. LISTEN |
| Straw reed-pipe. Reed-pipes are the most advanced Lithuanian folk wind-instruments. In the ancient times shepherds used to make reed-pipes from straw or feathers of geese. The present masters improved the reed-pipes and created the whole family of different instruments: high, tenor and contrabass reed-pipes. LISTEN |
 | Skudučiai are the oldest Lithuanian folk wind-instruments. In the ancient times glees were the most popular (genre of music that is characteristic exceptionally to Lithuanians) genre where skudučiai were used. Present composers have created many different pieces for skudučiai. LISTEN |
| Lumzdelis is the most popular instrument of little shepherds. They used to make luzdelis in spring from the bark, in summer, autumn and winter – from wood. The shepherds used to play lumzdelis while pasturing or in the long evenings of winter. LISTEN |
